Which component is being moved when tensioning the drive belt on

I am trying to add tension to the alternator belt. When I turn the tension screw nothing happens. Do I need to pry the component, and what is the component that should be moving. I have loosened all necessary bolts, still no movement or tightening is being noticed.

First you have to loosen the lock nut in the middle of the 3" round disc under the alternator, then turn the adjusting bolt clockwise. It is below and in front of the alternator. That bolt will pull the up. You'll need a swivel socket to get on that bolt.

Should have read, "the bolt will pull the alternator up".
