Plymouth Sundance Clutch Problem

How do I adjust the clutch cable? I put a new cable in today a d cant seem to adjust it properly. It wont let me shift into gear

the adjustment is at the fork. set it for about 1 inch of free play

was the old one broken??

Yea it broke one afternoon when I started it before work that night.

The fork on the transmission?

one end connects to the clutch pedal and th other goes on the clutch fork.

Right. Ive got that. But there's no adjustment on the fork. Its all on the back of the pedal...

ok, then thats where you do the adjustment to allow 1 inch of free play.
