Engine Warning light is ON

I've been getting light engine on and sometimes it get off !
and then it was in garage because the gas pedal is not working properly, and now the engine warning light is always ON !
P.S : I'm new with driving, I have been only driving only month ago and it is a manual car, is it possibly that I am driving it in a way that I harm the engine?

There is a fault code logged in the engine management system, you will have to take the car to a mechanic and get a diagnostic scan done, this will read the code, the code will identify the problem.
