The gray striker sleeve broke off one of my door hinges.
I replaced the sleeve with a piece of plastic tubing. The door shuts fine and the inside lights go out. However the "door ajar" indicator remains on.
Does the original gray striker sleeve contain any metal that is necessary to complete a circuit to say the door is shut?
