Can a water pump explode in a 1993 isuzu rodeo causing it to break pieces off the block?
Water pump exploded and sent pieces flying into the block causeing pieces to break off the block. is that even possible or could something else of caused that?

yes it can but it had to be in very bad shape and making a ton of noise.

if the block is damaged, yes

BEHIND THE WATER PUMP WHERE IT MOUNTS TO THE BLOCK AND CHANNELS THE WATER.

wow, that bearing was really bad. did it make any noise??
it does not look like it compromised the block. it may be ok to use.
