Where do I look for the problem?

There was a smell of electrical burn the heater stopped working the lights went out on the heater/ac control, I installed a new heater/ac control, still no lights at any time, the heater, and ac will not work.

What is the proximity of the hvac module? Under the dash right, or left of the steering column, passenger side, under the hood?
