Can the frost plug on the back of the head be replaced with out removing the head? Will a 1 5/8 rubber plug expand to a 1 7/8 hole? Or will a block heater fit in the hole? Need some ideas, dont want to pull head off.

The whole key to replacing freeze plugs is having access. Depending on just how much space you have, a good tech MIGHT be able to find a creative way of getting it pressed in. A rubber one is an option but I really don't like them as they are not real reliable. The plug will tell you what sizes it will work on.
