Truck Backfiring

I have a 1993 Chevy 4x4. Yesterday I changed the oil, filter, air filter, distributor cap and rotor button, spark plugs and plug wires, pvc valve and thermostat. Tried to drive the tuck earlier and it's backfiring, sputtering and finally cut off. What's wrong?

Maybe it is a timing issue? Any applicable mil codes? I'd still have to visually check for spark at the plugs. Also, use a gage and check fuel pressure.
