1993 Chevrolet Other Repair Question

1993 chevy truck
4.3 chevy 2wd auto trans ,engine will not run prperlybackfires surges,coolant temp sensor on scanner surges from -40 to 170. unplug timing conn. engine will idle sensor reads normal. have tried ac delco pcm still have same problem.
