Water pump

1992 Volvo 940--I am losing anti-freeze(ounces each day)Is it possibly from water pump?
If I replace water pump,is the timing belt in my way?

You need to visually check where its coming from no leaks could be burning in the cylinders

If you have the 2.3L or 2.5L 5 cylender engine, it is run by the timing belt. The 2.3L 4 cylender is not run by the timing belt. Others are not. Make sure that is the problem before replacing. There is a weep hole in the water pump. Check there for a leak. If the bearing or seal is bad, it will leak from that point.
