I need to replace a airbag sensor so I need to determine if I need to remove the center console and find the piece I need to replace.

The Airbag sensors for that vehicle are in the front of the car. There are 2 of them. I would be very careful here. Airbags are nothing to mess with and have to potential to kill you if mishandled.

Maybe air sensor is the wrong wording from me. There is a light on the dashboard that stays lit on "airbag". I took it to a mechanic and he said that under the center console there is a switch or plug in that has gone bad. It needs to be replaced to pass a state inspection. He said it cost $500. I plan to go to a pull and pay place and get one for $100 and do it myself. The mechanic said that you need to just remove the center console and unplug one thing and plug in a new one. Pretty simple according to him. I just want to know how to remove the console and look for the part to replace.

They are referring to that as the center sensor but it is actually the control module for the Airbag system.
