Cylinder head dowel pins?

Hi there hope you can help me on this matter. I done engine rebuilt by putting forged internal components in oder to boost the engine higher. but after rebuilt i found that the dowel pins that use to be in between the cylinder and block were not installed. is this may caused to engine damage, due to vibration or high compression eventhough the cylinder is hold by ARP head stud and other components

The purpose of those dowel pins is to prevent that head from moving during heat expansion
