Draining the battery

My son has a Mercury Sable and something is draining his battery. He has replaced his alternator and the problem still exists. What to do now?

has he tried using test light between disconnected battery post and cable and then remove fuses till light dims/goes out? this is 1 way to find drain. could be trunk light or underhood light staying on? those are common drains.

does he have a custom stereo hookup in car? these can be problematic.
