Can speed sensor be replaced without purchasing a new gearbox?
I think the vehicle speed sensor got damaged on installation and now the speedometer ticks over and the needle turns right around, and the hold light blinks on and off. Do you think it's my speed sensor? If so can it be repaired or replaced without having to purchase a new transmission? When driven the gears changed like crap, it revs up to about 5000 revs and goes out of gear till I let the throttle off then it goes back to 1st.

No references on this vehicle you don't need a new transmission-just locate the VSS and replace it if in indeed its damaged-start here
