Piston hitting exhaust valves

The type of engine that l have is a 4fh1 on isuzu elf 250. Is my problem on the campshaft timing?

If the engine is out of time enough for the pistion to hit a valve, it won't run. You may have carbon build up in the engine. As far as I know, this is an interferance engine, so make sure to follow the manufacturer's recommendations for belt replacement.
