Shifter stuck manual

I can shift the stick into every gear position but it just stays in 3rd gear, what is the best way to corect this problem?

See if your linkage is hanging up in trans. Check ball end for being worn and then look down in trans it should be a square or small rectangle and if it's not then the shifters are jammed so you can only get one gear. Kind of hard to explain. But it may be a combo of both causing the problem.
