Would it be possible to put a 2.0 dohc in this escort its the lx sedan, if so what year of the motor would fit? I would like to put a 2000 engine from a cougar? Thanks

The engine idles low an tries to stall. The transmission jerks when shifting from first to second if you get it to shift an let off fuel til it switches it takes a minute to change, I'm kinda in a spot if I change motor an trans then I want to put somethin with a lil more power

As far as the stall, it sounds like you either have a vacuum leak or a bad idle air control valve. As far as the different engine, we only recommend direct fit parts.
