We just changed the oil pump, pick up and oil pan and now there is a loud knocking noise coming from the upper engine. Oil is coming up from the pan and into the engine. What could cause this?

If you just changed the oil pmp you probably did it for a reason. If you are now hearing a noise it was probably to late to change tehoil pmp as the cam and followers have worn and there is to much clearance so they make noise. Pull the valve coveroff and visually inspect the cam and followers. You'll probably see them worn down andthat's where the noise is coming from.
