1992 Chevrolet Astro overheating after removeing thermosts

The van overheated on the highway so we let it cool down then replaced water got back to town then started overheating again or still added more water then went to friends house for more water it over heated the whole way home 26 miles flushed the radiator the next day but still over heats have no idea what the problem is

Good morning

the original reason of low coolant was the cause but the continued overheating and driving while overheated has most likely damaged the head gaskets at this point. You need to have a cylinder leak down test done to confirm the gaskets are good or bad.

This would be the starting point at this time
