BUICK ROADMASTER ENGINE PROBLEM
1992 Buick Roadmaster • 90,000 miles
My 1992 Buick Roadmaster sedan RPM's surges from 700-1200 rpm's after 5 minutes of idle warmup. Driving out the engine is also surging. Acceleration is hesitating during first 10-15 minutes of warmup to normal operating temperature of 160 F. There are no OBD1 scan codes taken by auto parts store. This problem is causing the transmission not to upshift smoothly from 1st to 2nd etc. I hit a ceiling with gas pedal acceleration at 35 MPH. Engine/transmission are not workinf in sync. Any Suggestions on what to look and test? Just prior to this problem I had placed a cotton sheet over the engine for cleaning the windshield screens. I may have disturbed something; wiring/component? I should have just used a hose and water spray to clean below the wipers! Thanks
