What is a guild or spacer needed to install
a starter correct in my jetta

I'm not sure what you mean.

The standard and automatic transmission starters need to be matched correctly to the vehicle and transmission according to month/year
of vehicle manufacture. You should not have to shim anything as long as the correct starter was purchased.
