1991 Toyota Pickup Repair Question

Growling

I have a 1991 toyota pickup,4wd,I am hearing a rumbling,in the rear, I believe, my guess is universal bearing or rear wheel bearing,anyone know how I can check these.

A wheel bearing will rumble and just get louder as the speed increases, a diff will hum and change pitch with throttle settings, you will feel any slack in a uni, by holding shaft at uni end and moving up and down, ther should be no movement in any direction.
