I was driving and the engine started making this loud clicking noise. While driving the sound comes and goes although it started to become more frequent as I kept going. At first it sounded as if something was scraping against the cement below my car but when I got home I looked under and everything seemed fine. Whenever the noise happens also my accelerator pedal gives out a little. I thought that if I wasn't careful while driving that the pedal might just break and fall to the floor. The sound really sounds like there is some kind of harsh stress acting on a rubber belt. Please help, thank You.

You may try to rev the engine while someone is looking under to the hood to determine if you can pinpoint the noise. This could be a belt tensioner or a hundred different things. Try to pin point the noise and let me know
