Mercedes Benz 420sel Door Problem
My ignition switch is stuck and will not turn but my key opens the trunk and doors. I was told by a mechanic to take a claw hammer and hit the switch but I found that odd and didn't do it can you help me?

i would spray some wd40 into the lock to loosen up the tumblers, not use a hammer
