Getting in gear
I have a 91 lincoln exe & I'm having a problem, when I put it in park it is hard to put it in gear

When it goes in park it is hard to put it in reverse & drive. I have to leave it in nuetral

Check the linkage to the transmission. Also, if it seems to lock in park (so you can't move it) make sure the brake lights are working. The brake light switch sends power to the park lock solenoid to release if from park.
