1991 Honda Accord Repair Question

Topics covered: Body, Fuel pressure, Rpm.
Mileage: 180 miles.

Asked on July 12, 2012

My car idles at low rpms and won't start when it is really hot.

The rpms at an idle are just under 500. When it gets hot the car will turn over, but never fully start.

For the idling, the IAC and throttle body are the most likely culprit. Cleaning them and readjusting the idling speed is recommended.

As to the difficult/non-starting when hot, check the PGM-FI main relay. Try resoldering the circuit board and retest.
