Hello im planning on buying a 1991 ford ranger xlt 4x4 that has a slight skip between 1000 - 2000 rpm it has an automatic transmission and the odometer reads 77000 miles but im not sure if thats the actual mileage it also tend to get hot but doesn't overheat the auto trans is strong it has been sitting for about a year and a half what could it be hope to hear back soon thanks for your help

Being that it sat for so long It wouldn't hurt to change fluids and possibly the plugs as well, the skip you're feeling might be a misfire. Also make sure coolant is up to level and the fan clutch is in good shape.
