There are marks on the camshaft gear and crank shaft gear, you need to align those. Ignition is 10@625-775

Thank you very much. I was talking about the ignition timing my mistake. My car idles at about 1400 to 1500 then when I stop after a few seconds it drops to about a 1000 it has done that since I bought it about a year and half ago. For the most part the car seems to operate flawless in all aspects but I know there are some minor problems. When I hook up the water overflow to the radiator. I start getting weird air bag light on my cluster. It only does this when I plug the wires into the overflow. The wires were cut when I bout it so I repaired them color to color and it started to happen. My car runs really cool all the time. I hav'nt checked to see if there is a thermostat yet but I will tonight. Also the check engine light will come on maybe a few seconds at a time but only when driving. It never comes on at idle not evev at a rev up so it passes smog. Technician at smog place told me it could be clogged egr tube. Can this be true? Once again thanks for your help greatly appreciated. I'll be waiting for your reply. Thanks

Yeah a clog egr tube can and also a stuck egr valve. Have you tried to see what code keeps setting off the check engine light?
