CANT REMOVE WHEEL OF CAR
1991 Ford Festiva • 4 cylinder 2WD Automatic • 120,000 miles
1991 Ford Festiva mileage: 120,000. The right real wheel was loose on car. Upon investigation, several roller bearings are missing. I cannot get this wheel off of the axle. Is there some "trick" that I'm not aware of, or do you think the remaining bearings have "welded" themselves to the axle?
From what you describe, yes, the bearings have probably "welded" to the axle. We have found that a "slide hammer" works quite well to remove the hub.
