I just need to find a quick at home do-able temporary fix for my gas leak so I can drive to work and back safely until I get the parts.

Right under the driver's side rear door, I'm not entirely sure but I believe it is rubber.

If its rubber you can get a ribbed hose connector and a couple of hose clamps.

If its rubber and its a low psi return line then you can fix it with fuel injection rubber hose and clamps. If its a pressure line it will need a fuel line repair kit

Okay. I'm a little worried now because I went and looked again and it's cracked to where it attaches at the end. Would you possibly know a rough estimate of how much it would take to just bring it in and get the gasline replaced?

You need to trace the line and see if its a pressur or return line. The return line is quick and easy to fix

But it's cracked where it connects I believe to the gas tank. I think it's just settle my mind to just get it replaced. So now I'm just wondering how much it would cost?

Was the problem immediately after the repair? If so, it is curious. Did you double check the work? Use a gage and check fuel pressure. Check for vacuum leaks. Block off the mouth of throttle-body, engine idling, does it have any effect on the idle?

Clean throttle-body and idle air control.

So I offered to help replace the fuel lines in a friends 1990 Buick Le Sabre. What do I need to worry about and how exactly do I remove the fuel tank without the gas leaking?

Thanks!

Your not a smoker are you? But hey, if the car torches ya might get money for a new 1 right? Why not drain tank first cause that makes it more explosive? You could add some water to kill that notion?
