engine removal

Do you have to remove the transaxle in order to pull the engine from a 1990 subaru legacy EJ22 ?

Not necessarily,but you can remove the axles and pull it out with the tranny in place-Your choice

If at all possible Id like to keep the axles connected,the trouble or concern I have at the moment is locating the (Engine to Tranny) top bolts...I think there are 2 on top and 2 on the bottom..along with a few studs that serve to line it up.The haynes service manual doesnt really give me pinpoint pics..Thanks for the reply!

Anybody have up close pics of the 2 upper tranny to engine bolts that i need to remove...EXACT LOCATION? Thanks for your help!
