Have to dump gas in the carb every now and then to get it to start. Cleaned the carb, new fuel pump, new gas tank, and new filters. Most of time will start and run, but 2-3 times a week, have to put gas into carb and then it will start and run

Check and see if there is a leak between the pump and the tank. It may be drawing air instead of fuel.

No specific conditions, and the pump is in the tank not inline
also parked the truck in the garage and had no leaks. Today, it shut off on my son, we put gas in carb and it started up, drove it to gas station and home. Went out later and it started right up and idled, then shut off and won't start again without gas in the carb

Feeding it with fuel-sounds like the accelerator pump is malfunctioning its job is to prime it and then the choke takes over from there-sounds like the carb needs overalling
