1990 Lexus LS 400 Repair Question

Lexus LS 400 Noise Problem
Engine making a knocking noise...not sure if it a fan belt or what...do you think it would be safe to drive to get repaired?

cannot hear it to make a determination. remove the belt and see if the noise is still there. if it is, no, if it is not, then it is something driven by the belt
