I drove to store and home and when i tried to start again it wont start but if i wait a while it will start

Will Kit crank on the key and not start or is it just dead?

It will crank on the key and not start. Its seems like the engine has to cool before it will start again.

Also it flashes a code 12, but when I use the ac to put codes it says no codes. If I get it started, it will stay running until I turn it off. I just found out that my mom washed the car in a drive through. Could water have gotten something wet under the hood?
