What is malfunctioning in my charging system?
I've replaced my alternator and I,m still only getting 12 volts at the battery. The cables appear to be good. I'm getting 18 volts at the alternator at an idle.

The battery voltage should be the same at the battery and alternator batt terminal-18 volts the alternator is overcharging the battery-check for loose connections
