Where do I find the lower timing mark

There is a grind mark on the crank so I used that but that's not it and I couldn't see any other marks on it. And I already took off the harmonic balancer

Put the engine no.1 piston on its compression stroke/TDC-See below

Number #1 is at the front of the engine the furthest forward If you sight across the engine. Pull the plug and with a flash light look in the spark plug hole and slowly turn the engine over until the piston is at the top of its stroke.
