CAR STALLS ON ACCELERATION AFTER SPARK PLUG WIRE CAME OFF.

1989 Ford Festiva • 225,000 miles

On my way home from work one of my spark plug wires came off. Car ran like crap (of course) until I got it home to see what the problem was. Reattached the wire and it ran fine. The next morning it started stalling on acceleration. New spark plugs didn't fix it. From a complete stop I have to rev it up to about 3500-4000 to move without dying. It will idle beautifully but as soon as I give it gas it stalls dead unless I put my foot to the floor. New plug wires going in it tomorrow but I have a funny feeling that's not going to fix it either. Vacuum is ok. Fuel filter is ok. Air filter is ok. Once I get the new wires in, where else should I look? Could the loose plug wire have damaged the distributor?
