1989 Chevrolet Truck Repair Question

Engine idle
Have 1988 chevy 1500 pickup when cold startup engine has a up and down idle check endine light not on all the time

Clean out the idle air control valve and test the throttle position sensor/manifold absolute pressure sensor-also check fuel pressure if its within specs-
