Problem starting
1998 Golf
I replaced my engine with a velociti 1600. The car does not start up immediately. One have to rev it twice and 1 hard rev before it starts. What could the problem be. Its converted into a carburetor

Check the choke plate opening and also the fast idle cam adjustment-start here
