1988 Mercedes Benz 560sl Repair Question

Merced 560SL Flickering SRS light causing shutoff?? HELP
I have an 88 560SL w/89k miles. My SRS light flickers on and off very fast after running for about 25 mins or so. Then the "Check Engine" light comes on or flashes, the car begins to idle down and hiccup before cutting off. The car will also only reach 40mph even when I floor it...HELP PLEASE?!?
