I have a 1988 chevy k1500 and it feels like it is choking. It runs fine when it idles but when I first take off it sputters and the service light comes on. Sometimes when I put in reverse it will stall. It is the 350 engine any ideas?

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis,finding out what's going on.
