I HAD MY CYLINDER HEADS SKIMMED& NEW GASKETS : I DID NOT RETORQUE THE HEADS AGAIN CAN THIS CAUSE ENGINE TO OVERHEAT UNDER HARD ACCELERATION ONLY

1988 Chevrolet Camaro • 80,000 miles

Heats mostly uphills & under a little hard acceleration: but at slow speeds, traffic the heat gauge sits at quarter. All water related parts been fitted brand new. My heads have not been retorqued & if the tappits are not set correctly can this also caues over heating, thanks

If you replaced the head gaskets, did you find the reason they blew in the first place.

I would look at the radiator for being clogged. I assume you replaced the thermostat.
