Why does my car keep shutting off?

I have a 1988 buick century with a 2.8 v6 engine and when I drive down the road it goes dead. Then it will crank back up and let me go for a little way then shut off again, it repeats this everytime. I put a brand new altinator in it but it still does the same thing. The battery is brand new and its been tested its a good battery.

Check the fuel pressure. It may be failing.

Yes, you might but only replace it after verifing the failure. Throwing parts at it is expensive. Make sure it is bad before replacing

Alright I will and it started doing this after I put a cd player in it thats why I thought it was electrical
