Has low spark making. It not start even spraying starting fluid what could it be?

Hello, It sounds like you have an ignition coil, cap and rotor that has gone out. Here is a guide so you can check out the coil.

Wont start replaced fuel pump fuel filter fuel relay still wont start will run with starting fluid

Unplug the fuel pump again and inspect the plug. It may be damaged, very common on these vehicles. Then check to see that its running by listening for a hum when the truck is keyed on

Could be. Check the wires and plug going into the ignition module on the distributor. The wires are bad about breaking at the plug

Engine Mechanical problem
1987 Chevy Suburban V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 112000 miles

a couple days ago I went to go visit my mom and I was getting off the highway after a 32 mile drive and I stopped to go right as traffic passed by my truck was idling really high. And I didn't think much of it as this wasn't the first time its idled high, but I stepped on the gas to go and it died. After 5 minutes I got it started and got going. Well about a minute or 2 later I reach another turn and I stopped at this stop light and my truck sounded alright still idling high though and then once again I went to go step on the gas and it died. After a couple of seconds I got it started again, with realizing that this wasn't a fluke a decided to park. I got it onto a side road where I was going to turn left into a Lowe's and it died again so I couldn't get it started again that night and someone helped me get it into the lot. Well the next day I looked at my spark plug cables and saw that one was burnt through so I replaced it. Then started right up. Thinking that my issue was resolved I drove it to my moms house.I then decided to take it to the gas station to fill her up but it died again at the top of the neighborhood I tried and tried to start it but got nothing but a really loud low pitch engine like it was firing and starting but didn't want to stay that way after I stopped turning the key. During this I looked out and saw that black smoke was coming out of the exhaust. I waited an hour and then tried again and I got it started and parked at my mothers.I just can't figure out why it would do that and the only conclusions I came up with was fuel pump or fuel injectors.

Hi, thanks for the donation. When was the last tune-up? Are there any codes? Right now it sounds like it is trying to flood for some reason. You might clean the throttle-body and check idle air?

Tune-up. No idea. Fluids I do, and there fine. And I was thinking something to do with the throttle body or idle air but wasn't sure.I mean I thought of 1000 things. Ummm codes not that I know of I dont have any where to plug in a computer if thats what you mean.

If your computer controlled, there should be a datalink connector, lower edge of dash. You place a jumper wire between A & B terminals of datalink connector. Turn key just till dash lites come on, no further. The mil starts flashing, you count the flashes to get the codes. Your looking for two digit codes. The picture below is to give location of A and B terminals, where applicable.
