1987 Cadillac Brougham Repair Question

Cadillac Brougham Engine Problem
While driving my 87 caddi brougham, it will shift fine til it gets to third gear. Seems like the higher side of third slips. The engine revs up and there is a loss of power. Will a tranny filter and fluid change do it justice? Or is it the torque converter, or do I need a new tranny?

Sounds like it's time for a rebuild. Have it checked by a reputable trans shop to see what they think. Changing the fluid now could make the problem much worse.
