1986 Toyota Pickup Repair Question

Truck wont stay running
Truck runs fine sometimes. i can crank it and drive it to the store but when i come out and try to start it it wont idle it just shuts off. if i hold the gas it stays running.

Is this a carby or EFI engine?

i cant sign back into that account but its a carb

There will be an idle solenoid on the side of the carby, round and with 1 wire, see if this clicks in when the ignition turns on.
