1986 Chevrolet Truck Repair Question

Where is the source of vacuum to the ac/heat switch to operate the heater doors for an 86 chevy c10?
This truck orginally had a 305CI V-8 but that out and a 396 is in. I checked all three of the vacuum actuators and they seem to work using a mity vac but don't seem to work from the heater control switch. One of the small vacuum lines from the switch goes through the fire wall and is capped off. Also have one on the back of the dash control that seems to be open or no hose is going to it.
