My rocker arms don't have an adjusting screw/bolt, how do i set the tappet clearance?
I've just replaced a head gasket and a cracked head an my 85 toyota hilux 3y engine and i'm up to setting the tappets, but there's no bolt/screw or anythin g like that to set it with.

i believe they are set with shims. who dis assmbled the head?? did you remove shims??

i did, and there weren't any. if i do up the nuts that hold on the rocker anywhere past fingertight there isn't any clearance at all.
