Toyota Camry Fuel pump Problem

I've read the following statement, and would like to know if the statement is correct ???Toyota Service :

The next time the problem occurs, take a piece of wire, bared at both ends, long enough to stretch from the battery positive cable, and insert the other end of the wire into the Fp connector. Crank the engine. Advise if the car starts. If it starts, you have a fuel pump issue, if it does not start, you have an electrical issue to the fuel pump.

That should work. I would suggest that they show you exactly where to run the power.
