How do I remove caliper assembly on the front. This is a very peculiar design.

There are two bolts (19mm head) behind the caliper. They are connected by a strap that was bent over the bolt heads. This the only option I see to remove the caliper. I tried breaking them loose, but they are either specd lefty or rusted on at 170lbs +. The Ebrake cable is on the left front. Please advise

DISC BRAKE CALIPER
Removal (Front & Rear)
Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheels. Remove brake pads. On front wheel calipers, disconnect
parking brake cable from lever on caliper. On all calipers, disconnect hydraulic lines. Plug lines to
prevent entry of dirt or loss of fluid. Detach caliper mount bolts and remove caliper assembly.
Inspection
Inspect front and/or rear caliper assemblies for damage, corrosion or leakage at each piston dust cover
or between rear caliper halves. Rebuild or replace caliper as necessary. See OVERHAUL in this
article.
NOTE: If leakage is found between rear caliper halves, do not attempt to
separate and rebuild component, replace the rear caliper as an
assembly.
Installation
To install, reverse removal procedure. Lubricate front caliper-to-yoke sliding surfaces. If
necessary, rotate front caliper piston with Piston Wrench (89 96 043) to move piston into
cylinder.
1.
Rotate rear caliper piston to proper position (if necessary) using Piston Installer (89 95 367),
then check position with template. See Fig. 5.
2.
Install brake pads. Mount caliper and install hydraulic line. Tighten mount bolts using new
locking plate. Bleed hydraulic system. Adjust parking brake cables.
